I’ve been wanting to start updating our blog to share pictures with family and friend, but the idea of playing catch up is intimidating.  Instead, I’m just going to pick up where we are now!

Evan had his two month appointment last week and it went really well!  After gaining about a pound of week for the first 6 weeks of his life, his weight gain has slowed down a bit.  Evan now weighs 12 pounds 13 ounces and is 23 1/2 inches long.  And he is still just as adorable as he was when he was born :)

Even though we had to wait a long time for the doctor to come in, Evan did great once she came to check him out.  He was smiling and talking to Dr. Taylor, and tolerated all of her inspecting and checking.  She said everything looks great!

He has to get 4 vaccines- 1 oral and 3 shots- but he did really well.  He started screaming after the first injection, but didn’t regain his breath until the other two were done so I’m not sure he even realized how many he got.  He settled down quickly and slept just about the entire rest of the day.  We are so thankful he didn’t have any reactions and tolerated everything so well!

We were especially thankful he did so well with his shots because on Saturday we traveled to Illinois to introduce Evan to his extended family on Tony’s side.  We rode in the car with Tony’s parents, so we were able to sit in the back with Evan and help keep him entertained.  He ended up sleeping a lot which was a blessing! And Tony and I sang You Are My Sunshine numerous times in numerous versions to keep him happy when he was awake.

We had a great time hanging out with Jody’s side of the family at Tony’s Granny’s house and at the hotel.

On Sunday we traveled to Tony’s Aunt Gail’s house to visit with Scott’s side of the family.

It was a great, memorable weekend!

Very nice update! I love the picture of Evan being examined with a stethoscope.
